Questions about Arctic
Is it warm enough for a real winter?
Arctic has a soft faux-fur lining all the way round the ankle and is made for snow, slush and cold mornings. On the coldest days, add wool socks – and choose one size up if you do.
Will I slip on ice?
The sole has deep, multi-directional tread designed to grip snowy and slushy pavements, and the flexible sole lets you feel the ground. No shoe can promise grip on pure ice, so take the same care on black ice as you always would.
Is it waterproof?
The upper is water-repellent and shrugs off snow and slush on everyday winter walks. For deep puddles and wet trails, North Terrain is fully waterproof.
Is a barefoot shoe really OK in winter?
Yes. Barefoot is about shape, not about being thin and cold: your heel and toes sit level, your toes have room and the sole bends with you. The warmth comes from the lining, the grip from the tread.
Can I do it up with gloves on?
Yes. The quick-lace toggle needs one pull to tighten and one squeeze to loosen – no knots.
